Artist Statement

     Michelangelo said, “Only God creates.  The rest of us just copy.”  I get it, completely.  For inspiration, I often look to the past – sometimes centuries.  I am both mesmerized and humbled by illustrations of Biblical events, morality tales, and mythology found in etchings, engravings, woodcuts, and oil.

     I draw, paint, and enjoy hand-pulling prints.  My work can be academic, absurd, surreal, and sometimes humorous.
